Skills, Schools, Stories is an integrated programme of activities
designed to provide opportunities for people of all ages to get
involved in the restoration of Murrays' Mills and the regeneration
of the Ancoats area.
The project has a total cost of £150,000 and is funded by
the Heritage Lottery Fund, with private sector sponsorship and 'contributions
in kind' from volunteers. The project is administered by Heritage
Works Buildings Preservation Trust (formerly Ancoats
Buildings Preservation Trust) A Community Development Officer,
Jennifer Gosling, has been employed from two years to develop and
implement the programme.
Heritage Works will continue to engage with communities following
the model developed in the Skills, Schools, Stories project.
